Happy Birthday Sir Ben!

Saturday we went to my other nephew's 4th birthday party which had a knight's theme. Jason was in charge of picture taking so most of these are action shots...

"Grandy" and Will

Ben had a rather large birthday party as he wanted to invite all of the kids in his preschool class. Present opening time reminded me of another birthday party I went to recently. The kids were all crowded around my sister and the presents most of them trying to open the one they brought! Sound familiar Becky?
Ben's actual birthday is tomorrow. Love you Ben and Happy Birthday! Love always, Aunt Andrea, Uncle Jason, and Cousin David. Next time I see you we will have to have an official ceremony to induct you into knighthood ; )

Going Postal

Last Monday I drove the the post office and dropped off three bills. Yesterday (Nine days later) I received this letter in my mailbox from the postmaster...

which was supposed to explain this...
At one point the letter says "We are very concerned with incidents such as this..." Yes indeed, USPS I can tell how concerned you are by the photocopied standardized letter you sent to me over a week after the damage occurred. My question to Mr. postmaster is, are you so concerned that you are willing to pay the fee I will now incur for this bill whose payment is now late? At the very least you could have refunded my postage! I guess I should be glad I received any notification at all, right Caron?

Mommy Looks Like A Martian

A conversation that transpired this morning as David and I were watching cartoons...
David: *Pointing to the big mommy martian seen in the picture above* "Mommy that's you!"
Me: "Really? How come?"
David: "She has a baby in her belly, See?"
Me: *Thinking to myself* Grrreat. That is what I look like pregnant? Niiice.

New Blogger!

David's girlfriend Elena started a blog! (Well, actually her mom Julie did ; ) Y'all be sure to visit her on my links at the "Goodrow Gang". Their blog will document Elena's journey battling Cystic Fibrosis as well as their recent decision to expand their family through adoption.

Less Than Perfect Timing

Last weekend we picked up my nephew Ben's first toddler bed to borrow until his little brother Will needs it. I really like it because the crib mattress still fits in it, and it is so low to the ground any fall wouldn't hurt in the least. I decided that a long weekend would be the perfect time to put it together as I was hoping we could work out any kinks over these next few days.

Trying it out for the first time

As usual we have less than perfect timing. On Friday I came down with yet another sinus infection. I've been careful to wash my hands frequently and try to keep my germs far away as possible, but its all been in vain. Last night, shortly after putting David to sleep in his new "big boy bed" he began coughing and I could hear some chest/nasal congestion as well. He woke up a few hours later and Jason gave him some medicine and successfully put him back to bed. Then around 5 am I hear little feet running aross the house and then our bedroom door open. Feeling sorry for him, I let him up in bed with me. This morning as I was explaining to him that I only did that because he was sick and he's not supposed to do that, Jason looked at me and said "do you really think he understands that?". Ugh.

Put Me In Coach

After my sister and I broke several things in my parents house practicing gymnastics many, many, years ago, I didn't think any sport was allowed to be played inside anymore. Ah well, when grandchildren come along, they change all the rules. Jason was out of town a few days this week so I took the opportunity to take David for a visit with Oma and Pop one day. My sister and her boys came too. David and Ben didn't have to ask Pop more than once to play baseball in the basement.
Ben wactching/working the pitching machine.

Here is a picture of the three grandsons at our house a few weeks ago. I cannot belive in four short months Wesley will join the crew. Wow. Four boys. Bring on the ball games!

Will's First Birthday

I still haven't recovered from our busy weekend, but I had just enough energy to put up this post tonight! Saturday afternoon we went to my youngest nephew Will's 1st birthday party at my sister's house.

Opening presents...

...with a little help from mom, and big brother!

After the party we dropped David off with Joel, Julie, and Elena and Jason and I went to a Kinchafoonee Cowboy's concert. We haven't seen them since Jason was at UGA, but they sound just as good as they did 8 years ago ! Clint and Mandy joined us there and we all had a great time. We ended the evening by driving back to the Goodrow's house to spend the night. Much to our delight, they had already given David a bath and put him to sleep. Sunday morning we went to church together and then had a picnic lunch at the park. A few hours later our prayer group met. (None of the other pictures I took this weekend turned out very well.) We finally made it home late Sunday night. Sheesh, that's a lot in one weekend! Like I said, I still haven't recovered.

Living On Planet Pluto

On Sunday we met up with our friends Joel and Julie, and David's girlfriend Elena at the Mall of Georgia. Elena's parents went to see a movie kid free, and we took the kids with us to see Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. This was David's first movie in a theater and he did pretty well. I'm quite sure it wouldn't have gone even half as well without Elena there. David absolutely loved movie theater popcorn. Our movie got out first so we took the kids on a carousel ride, and then to the disney store. We let them pick out a plush character to take home. Elena went straight for Minnie, and we were surprised that David chose Pluto over Mickey! We were asked him several times if he was sure about his choice, but sure enough, he knew exactly what he wanted. Pluto hasn't left his side ever since!
