Can't Help But Compare Them Already

For those of you who commented that you thought Wesley looks like David...you were right!

Above is a picture of David just before we left the hospital.
This is a picture of Wesley (in the same UGA sleeper no less) before we left the hospital. Pretty close, huh? Actually, David was born with about two times the amount of hair Wesley has. No kidding! To be fair, I should state that David spent three weeks longer in utero. So...I guess Wesley will look pretty similar to this in two and a half years... David has been one awesome big brother so Jason decided to reward his good behavior with a CAT construction electric train complete with diggers, bulldozers, and dump trucks which ride on top of railway cars. (Of course engine, tender car, and caboose were also included.) David's two loves trains and construction combined together for only $12! Does it get any better????
The above picture showcases one of the smartest parenting decisions Jason and I have made thus far (and may be why David has transitioned from only child to big brother so well). Most people buy the older sibling a gift when a younger sibling is born. We did that, but decided to tell him the gift was from Wesley! David has been asking for "Mack" for about a month now. We bought it and saved it to give him the day he met his younger brother. He loves it and will be the first to tell you who gave it to him!

Wesley's Nursery

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to finish the nursery! Here are a few pictures of the finished product...

This is the same rocker that Jason's mom rocked him in when he was a baby. She gave it to us when we got married. We had it re-covered as it used to be a seventies yellow/orange color. David was rocked in this chair and Wesley will soon have his turn.

David has really enjoyed being Daddy's little helper lately. He was a big help putting together Wesley's bookcase and dresser/changing table. We've moved many things from David's room to Wesley's and it has been very encouraging to us that he hasn't seemed jealous at all!

This sign is in the hallway between the boys rooms.
Appropriate, no?

You Know The Drill (Pun Intended)

Well folks, another one of my friends started blogging. I met Stacey while working for the Statesboro Herald-she was a graphic designer (and a darn good one at that) and I was an account executive. She currently lives in Alaska but you can probably guess that won't be permanent from the title of her blog "Being a work at mommy & army wife". You know the drill...stop on over for a visit, introduce yourself, and leave a comment ; )

New Blogger

I had the privilege of adding another link to my blog roll the other day. My friend Lauren started a blog-Yay! I've known her since the first grade (I've blogged about that before). We've been through every major milestone in life together and have still remained friends. Lauren just finished up her nursing degree and I am so proud of her for doing that while juggling the responsibilities of a wife and mother of two. Go on over to go to Married...With Children introduce yourself and don't forget to leave her some comments ; )
