First Train Lesson

Caron, apparently David heard you when you said "I'm sure David will love having a brother! He'll have to get right on the task of teaching him to love trains!!"

In the words of Becky, my family is well on the way to having its own basketball team. In other words, we just found out we are having another boy! Interestingly enough David began calling the baby Wesley a few days ago...the best news of all is that he is healthy!

My Boys In The Snow

David thoroughly enjoyed his first snow yesterday. In fact he is the one who told us it was snowing in the first place! Jason and I were talking in the kitchen and David was looking out the window. All of a sudden he said, "Its raining, no, ITS SNOWING!". We could hardly believe that a) it was really snowing and b) David noticed it before we did! I wish it could have been light outside just a little longer so we all could have enjoyed it more. As usual the freezing temperatures did not phase David. He would have stayed out there all night if we didn't insist that he come in for his own health.

T minus 7 days...

...until we find out the sex of baby #2. Yesterday during a conversation with David, I realized that its not just that he thinks he's getting a baby sister, its that he wants a baby sister. Instead of asking him what is in mommy's tummy, I decided to try a different angle...

Me: *Pointing to my tummy* "David, is this Anna, or Wesley?"
David: "Anna"
Me: *Thinking to myself* Huh. I didn't know he could distinguish boys names vs. girls names.
David: "David hold Anna when she comes?"
Me: "Aww, yes David you'll get to hold the baby."
David: "Anna play trains with David?"
Me: "Yeah, I'm sure she would love to play trains with her big brother but she might want you to play dolls with her too...er, um David, would you be upset if you get a baby brother instead?"
David: "Yep."
