Baby Update

Many of you have been asking how Wesley and I are doing. I guess I haven't had much to report so "no news, is good news", but here are a few highlights...

Wesley is already proving to have gotten my "gymnastics gene" and is constantly doing somersaults in the womb. David used to kick here and there and I would feel him stretching out or kicking on one side, but when Wesley moves, I feel it all over! Also, he apparently doesn't know what the "fetal position" is, because he is constantly stretched out and I can always feel him on my right side at the top of my ribs.

At my last appointment I passed the glucose test, which was truly a relief. I have been eating waaay to many sweets lately, namely chocolate. The Easter candy really didn't help my cause. I craved chocolate with David too and that's definitely something the boys got from their daddy. I was however warned that I gained too much weight between my last two appointments and to cut back on the calories as they don't want Wesley to get too big. I was told the same thing last pregnancy, but this group was so much nicer about it so I was able to take it in stride.

I have already scheduled my c-section which is really weird to be able to pick out your child's birthday! This pregnancy will be roughly three weeks shorter than last time. David was a week overdue and last time we were anxiously waiting for him to come-in fact he came the day before I was to be induced! We don't have a laptop so unfortunately there will be no updates from the hospital, but of course I will post as soon as we come home.

It won't be long now...start praying for a safe delivery!

Easter Weekend

Another busy, fun, but tiring weekend! Hope you enjoy the best of the lot of pics I took...
Jason didn't have to work Friday so we took advantage of the great weather and spent most of the day outside.
David thought Charlie needed to borrow his new sunglasses. These were a potty training reward-can't beat the $1 section at Target!
Saturday night we went to Becky's house for Elena's 4th Birthday Party/Welcome Home party for Ethan.Bobby taking a swing at the Pinata.
David enjoying Bobby's sandbox...
...with his friends Elena, Drew, and Lana.
Driving a BMW while wearing shades ; )
A new T-ball set from Grandma er, um, the Easter Bunny.
David's new love.
David has a new found interest in all things construction. I don't think he will ever outgrow his love for trains, but it is becoming less of an obsession for him now. I guess he's growing up more and more every day. Case in point: at the party David climbed up on the couch and asked if he could hold Ethan. He's never asked to hold a baby before! Julie let him (with my help of course). A few minutes later Ethan stared crying and David told him "its okay". I was so proud. He's going to make a great big brother.

That's My Boy!

We opened the Easter candy a little early. I gave David a piece that looked like this...

This conversation followed...

David:"What's this?"
Me: "Easter candy."
David:*Inspecting his prize* "Its a chocolate football!"
Me: "Actually, its an egg."
David: "No mommy, its a football."

Since it made me laugh and made me proud at the same time, I decided not to argue with him any further.

Time Out: Let's Go Fly A Kite

David was in serious need of another hair cut so I took him to snip-its today. The last two cuts have gone really well and today's was the first time he didn't cry at all, which, believe me is huge! We met my parents for lunch afterwards-thanks for treating us mom and dad! Knowing David wanted to hang out longer with his Oma and Pop I convinced them to come to the park with us. I just happened to have a kite in the car and today's weather was perfect for a flight.

After driving home David wanted to play outside just a little longer before it got dark outside, so we did just that. Pictured below is yet another hand-me-down that we've had for several months. "Uncle" Ricky's kids are too old for it now so he offered it to us. Score! It still needs a little work though. We replaced the swings and canopy but everything else is original and came as is. We mulched in the play area and soon we will add some sod around it. Ignore the empty space just below the "fort". The man who delivered the mulch said most people make that area a sandbox. I probably would have done just that but Jason says sand attracts fleas!
At one point David was playing with one of the swings and it apparently wasn't "cooperating" exactly as he had hoped because he threatened to "put it in time out"! I guess its obvious we've been experiencing a little bit of the terrible two's lately ; )

Another New Blogger!

Whoohoo! I've been working on Rebecca for a while now trying to get her to start blogging. She finally did it! Katie and Becky-y'all know her as a fellow Pius alum, and Tara-you know her from our SJN youth group days. Here's some recent pics of David and her son Bobby playing in our basement on a Saturday morning-still wearing their pj's and sporting some serious bed head ; )
Please go on over and visit the Beckman Bulletin and be sure to leave some comments. She is also pregnant with #2 and they just found out the gender today...

A Visit With The Goodrow Gang

Yesterday we went to Joel and Julie's house to meet Ethan for the first time.
Elena just loves holding her new baby brother.

Elena is very good about sharing her trains with David...
...and sharing her Grama too! David enjoyed playing little piggy with her so much that he began calling her Grandma as well ; )
The Proud Father.

The glowing Mother.

Ethan Joel Goodrow...

...our Godson! Joel and Julie asked us to be Ethan's Godparents. We were honored, but we would only accept the invitation if they would be Wesley's Godparents as well! They agreed and there were hugs and tears all around! Oh what a glorious day. Jason and I have been beaming from ear to ear ever since.

Praise Be To God!

Please go on over to The Goodrow Gang and read their latest post. After only 38 days of waiting, Joel and Julie were selected to adopt a baby boy! That has to be some sort of record as one of the shortest adoption processes ever! The Royal Family is so happy for them that our cup runneth over. I've decided to remove the comment section from this post so y'all can leave any and all comments with them. I've never known two people who are more deserving of this beautiful gift...
