Christmas Pics and Baby Update

Our Christmas festivities began Christmas Eve when Grandma (Jason's mom) came over for Christmas Eve mass. David fell asleep in the car and then slept in Jason's arms and then my arms the whole time which was a blessing since he didn't get a nap that day. Once we were home, Jason started a fire in the fireplace and we all watched Polar Express. That is easily becoming a family tradition. Christmas morning we woke up in our own house which is the first time that has happened since we've been married! That in itself was an awesome gift. David seriously could have been happy to stop after opening his stocking. He got 4 new wooden Thomas trains and he refused to even acknowledge there were other gifts to be opened for the longest time.
Here he is playing with Emily and Toby.
Charlie had a bone wrapped up for him under the tree. He was able to sniff out which one was his present and even opened it by himself! Another tradition in the making. After a short time here we loaded up and headed to my parents house.
Nephew Ben as a black power ranger-our gift to him. This kid loves any kind of super hero costume.
David in his new Bob the Builder tool belt and hat.
Pop helping David ride his new tricycle. Surprisingly he needed no instruction at all!

My poor mom with her booted fractured foot.
Despite having to wait to see doctor after doctor, specialist after specialist during holiday schedules/hours she remains in good spirits.
Nephew Will who is wearing David's Christmas outfit from last year. I really enjoyed seeing that since we've been able to use so many of Ben's old clothes.
All in all it was a great Christmas. David made me so proud by one thing in particular on Christmas day. My mom had the grand kids sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, but first one of the kids (which ever one was willing) had to take baby Jesus out of hiding and put him in the manger scene crib. David was up for the task and didn't have to be asked twice if he wanted to do it. For normally such a shy kid to take the lead with no problem
was really nice for me to see especially for such an important job.

*****Baby Update*****

In less than one month we will hopefully learn the sex of baby #2. I'll share with you the names we've picked out. If its a girl we will use the name we had ready last time which is Anna Catherine. If its a boy we've decided to go with Wesley James. If you ask David what is is mommy's tummy he says "baby sister". We shall see if he is right...I for one have no preference either way. If its a boy we already have lots of boy stuff. If its a girl then we will get to know what its like having a daughter. Either way its win-win. Even though we didn't think about it at all when choosing the names, I won't have to change the name of the blog-Royal Family it remains!

I am happy to hear that you guys had a Merry Christmas at home this year! I love your names and Angela will be so jealous.....she drove a hard campaign for the name Wesley (Wes) but eventually lost. I can't wait to find out what the baby is!

I remember when Patrick was that age, we could never get him to open all his gifts. He just wanted to play with what was already open too! Ben does not seem to have that problem...

I too love your baby names. Very classic--and no weird spellings!!! ;)

Oh, and we considered both Wesley and James for both our boys. Luke picked Patrick for the first one and for the second one, I eventually told him that I didn't care what he wanted...Ben was my favorite name and I wanted it the first time and I was not giving it up again!!! But I did like both Wesley and especially James. We liked Nick too.

Oh, Merry Christmas! Cute pics! I know he loved those Thomas Trains!
Can't wait to hear if you have another little prince or a princess in there!
I'm very impressed that you attempt midnight Mass with a small child. We haven't gone to one in a few years. We do 10:45 Christmas morning! However, next year our new church will be finished being built and we may have to figure out how to make it work because I know the first midnight Mass will be so spectacular! I really miss it. Maybe we'll be able to wrangle my friend to watch the new one sleep and take Lindsay next year.
At any rate, as I ramble, I was REALLY impressed to see that!

Love the names you have picked. Catherine is on the list for a first or middle for us as well. Just depends...we're not kicking around names this time until we know. Take care!!!

LOL! Our girl name when we were pregnant with Wyatt was Emma Kathryn. The two are close! I love both the names.

I'm glad Christmas was fun for you all. We used to spend the night away from home before kids, but ever since we had Allie we have spent that night at home. I guess that's our tradition. Michael really wants them to wake up that morning in their own house. It makes for A LOT of driving Christmas day, but it's not too bad.

Glad that David stepped out of the Shy role for a bit! That is nice!

Glad to hear that you were able to spend a holiday at home. It really takes some of the craziness out of it. David look so much like Kade did when he was two. It was all about trains. He really does not even play with them anymore.

I love the names. I tried hard for Wesley with Kade, but as you see I lost. Best of luck to you and hope you are feeling well.

So cute! Can't wait to find out what baby #2 is -- we have a mess here trying to get things ready for Ms. Marleigh. I am still under the weather and Davis is now sick -- first time sick or on meds since Feb! I am so happy we were all well for so long! Maybe we can get over it before the baby arrives! I have lots to blog -- and hope to work on it tonight. Davis is all into trains of course and "sharks" and "whales" he is quick to tell you if you call one the wrong name! LOL! So we got him the thomas train cars carrying the shark and octopus in water. Davis loves that they "swim" while he plays trains! LOL!
