Last Monday I drove the the post office and dropped off three bills. Yesterday (Nine days later) I received this letter in my mailbox from the postmaster...
which was supposed to explain this...
At one point the letter says "We are very concerned with incidents such as this..." Yes indeed, USPS I can tell how concerned you are by the photocopied standardized letter you sent to me over a week after the damage occurred. My question to Mr. postmaster is, are you so concerned that you are willing to pay the fee I will now incur for this bill whose payment is now late? At the very least you could have refunded my postage! I guess I should be glad I received any notification at all, right Caron?

Anyhoo... sorry about your mail. At least it wasn't a check! That's about the only way it could have been worse!
Loved seeing you at the sale! I wish I could have seen you more. We were shorthanded and it was a long day. That line was ridiculous... I'm so sorry you had to wait in it!!
Oh I have been there recently. I mailed a credit card payment. Upon checking our accounts online I noticed that nothing had cleared and I had a late fee. 3 weeks later I got a letter from the bank that said my mail had been damaged in "process" to send another payment immedately or I would incure other late charges. WHAT!!! I have since set up my stuff to pay online. We will see how that goes. I tell ya the post office really irrates me.
Snail mail sucks - can you pay them on line?! I bet if you call them and send them the letter they may drop the fee this one time -

Hey Andrea! Somehow that doesn't surprise me about the post office... we had a very similar incident happen to us! Like Angela, we are now using bill pay online with our bank and never have to depend on the mail services to deliver our mail! It is all done electronically! WE LOVE IT!

I think it's all a scam by the USPS so that they will get more people to pay online and have to process less stuff...LOL! That's crazy. HOpe you don't get hit with late fee's.
Hey Andrea! Thanks for posting on my new blog! How cool that you are pg with #2 and you are naming him Wesley! Is he named after anyone? Wes is named after paternal grandfather, uncle, and paternal great-grandfather. We should know the gender of #2 in mid-April!
