One Of Those Days

David was in need of a "professional" haircut and I wanted to go somewhere that specialized in kids cuts since I wasn't exactly sure how it would go and they usually have lots of neat and fun distractions. The only one place I knew of was about an hour away so I asked my sister if she would like to come with me and get my nephew's hair cut at the same time today. Ben is an old pro at this and picked out the "car" he wanted to sit in right away. As I sat David down in his "tractor" seat and began to strap him in he immediately began wailing in discontent. I told him that we were not at the doctor, he was not getting a shot, and this was not going to hurt. He only cried louder and harder at my constant reassurance that everything was okay. Ben asked my sister "why is David crying?" and was content to sit still as he watched t.v. The hair stylist kept trying to distract him but he responded by throwing his head back and forth making it all the more difficult to cut his hair. It probably only took 15 minutes, but it seemed like hours. I apologized profusely and I am still so embarassed that I'm not sure if I will ever go back. The girl did make me feel a little better by telling me that at least he didn't bite her and that she has been bit by children before (thank you God for sparing me that). We ate lunch right afterwards and David was less than happy the entire time but luckily the weather allowed us to sit outside and eat. Hopefully the people inside were not bothered by his tantrum. I'm pretty sure the other people sitting outside don't want kids anymore. I had planned on going to a few stores after lunch, but of course that did not happen. Since I was only a short drive from my mother-in-law's house I decided to stop there in hopes that David could get a nice long nap before we drove home. He refused to fall asleep so an hour later I drove home...

I know I left something in daddy's boot...

I can see it...

if I could just reach it...

Jason has to check his boots every morning to see what "St. Nick" aka David left for him...

The Nativity Story

I saw one commercial for this movie which will be released on December 1st and haven't heard about it since. Anybody know anything about this? I want to see it, but only if it is a true documentary.

Life Changes

David took two steps yesterday, and three today. My life is about to change drastically. I'm excited yet scared at the same time...

Veterans Day

My Dad served two years in the vietnam war. He was drafted while in college. Even though he didn't volunteer, he willingly served his country when his "number" was called. "If you love your freedom, thank a vet". Thank you Dad.

A Little Help Here

Pretend for a moment that your husband left on Monday for a hunting trip to Iowa and he comes home tonight. You've had parent duty alone for the past few days. Your husband has promised you that since he has Friday off for Veterans day he will let you have an afternoon all to yourself. You don't want to go shopping or spend much money since Christmas is only 45 days away. However, you would like to relax and have a good time...what would you do?

Olivia's First Birthday Party

Let me preface these pictures by telling you they were taken with my cell phone...

Isn't she beautiful getting ready to eat...

CAKE!!!

How cool is that? If I ever have a daughter she is so getting one of these!

David trying to climb up the moonwalk (all the other kids were eating at the time).

Today David and I traveld to Cumming for Livi's first birthday party. (Her actual birthday is November 13th which is also Becky's Ben's birthday!) Once again I forgot my camera. Alas I did remember I had my cell phone with me and was able to capture a few decent pictures. I will have to refer you to Bethany's Blog for much better photos as her husband is a professional photographer. You might have to give her a few days though. She threw a spectacular party and she is pregnant again so she is probably pretty tired right now!

The Cotton Gin Festival

The antique tractor parade

Biggest thing I've ever seen!

Cute little kid on a cub cadet

The girls driving tractors made me so proud

Speaking of girls on tractors...here's a pic from last year's festival. My mom is standing next to the very brand/model tractor she drove up a wall when she was little!

Ben and Papa John

Daddy and David

Had to post a pic with some cotton in it since it is the cotton gin festival and all. Bostwick is home to the oldest working cotton gin in Georgia, and it was up and running and available for tours.

Tagged by Katie

Me...right now.
Okay so really that was me last night at 11p.m. I was procrastinating from ironing aka blogging when Katie tagged me. The game goes like this. I am supposed to take a picture of myself at this very moment and explain the picture, tell a little bit about the person who tagged me and how I know them, and then tag some other bloggers. As you can see I'm in my pj's ironing. I normally wouldn't be simling while doing this chore but let me explain. In my previous post I was pondering ways to not have to iron anymore. The best I could come up with is to iron wrinkles in Jason's clothes. Great in theory, but since I've been ironing his clothes perfectly for 5 years I don't think he would buy it. However, when I began unbuttoning his shirt to get ready to iron it and have my picture taken, I accidentally popped off one of the buttons! Hahahahaha! The timing was impeccable, but it still didn't get me out of ironing.

I know Katie because her mom and my mother-in-law are best friends. Katie is a great prayer pal. When I was first pregnant with David she would call every few weeks to check up on me and let me know she was thinking about me and praying for me. She would even remember the dates of my doctors appointments and call that day to see how it went! Although Katie had it much worse than me, she was there for me when I didn't fully recover from childbirth until surgery four months later! Thanks for everything Katie!

Allright girls...I am supposed to tag some others...last time I tried to tag people not everyone particiapted. (Jennica I'm giving you a break since you just had a baby). I know some of your blogs are about your children so if you must take a pic with your kids allright? No cheating!

Ironing

I'm thinking about applying this Shel Silverstein poem to my least favorite chore.
