Georgia's Offical Weather Prognosticator

Friday is Groundhog Day and since I will be posting another Friday's Feast and I got nuttin' else to blog about I thought I would put this post up a few days early...

Here's hoping General Lee doesn't see his shadow...

...so he isn't scared and does not run back in his hole, er house which would then mean spring is on its way!

Girl, I haven't got a whole lotta faith in General Lee ever since I witnessed the craphole place he calls home that is the Yellow River Game Ranch. I wouldn't be surprised if he was declared to be a clinically insane groundhog, along with the psychotic coyotes and mutant ducks they've got running around that place!!! I'm putting my money on the groundhog in PA, and if he sees his shadow, he better run ALL THE WAY back into his hole, because I'll be coming after him, boy! I NEED SPRING!

I NEED SPRING TOO! A friend of mine has lived in FL her entire life and is selling her home in Ft. Lauderdale to move to Georgia. She's never had to buy sweaters, coats, boots, etc. Can you imagine the shock?!

Let's all hang in there for two more months.....

please let it be spring soon! oh, the germs in my classroom are just killing me lately.....i have a little doubt in ole General Lee too....they need to get him some new digs..that poor old groundhog! they need to be treating him right...he needs to be sippin' on gin and juice, just laaaid back.
and becky-your comment had me laughing my rear off! that Game Ranch is whack! there is this one manic squirrel that has singled me out and never leaves me alone when i go there. he scares me to death!those eyes! those beedy eyes!!

I agree girls...the yellow river game ranch needs some help and I feel for General Beauregard Lee...his house/home needs remodeling.

Hey Becky it says here

http://www.yellowrivergameranch.com/ghday.htm

that General Lee is 94% accurate, while his PA counterpart is only 85% accurate...

Well in that case, if he sees his shadow there's a 94% chance that I will get on down to Snellville and go in after him!

I always forget about Groundhog day until I wake up to the news and they have 50 cameras on the poor General Lee. He's going to see his shadow with all those camera lights on him. Same with the one in PA.

Is General Lee the National weather predictor or just for Georgia? I was watching PBS and learned he lived in Lilburn (if I remember correctly). I would like a little more cold weather. I have yet to wear any of the cute sweaters I picked up this year!!

Thanks for the comment Katy! I believe General Lee is strictly a Georgia weather man. If I lived in South Georgia again (I used to live in Statesboro) I would probably want more cold weather too...
